Hailed
as “ravishing” (New York Times) for her performance at the Boston Early
Music Festival and blessed with “crystalline purity” (Seattle Times) Ms.
Tsatsanis divides her time between early opera and concert performance.
Past opera roles include Valletto in L'incoronazione di Poppea,
Venus in Venus and Adonis, Fanny in The Cooper, and
Arthebuze in Actéon. Her concert performance ranges from oratorio
to renaissance song to world premier performances such as a stunning
arrangement for soprano, cello and orchestra of the Prelude’s of Bach's
Cello Suites . She has appeared as soloist with groups such as
Seattle Baroque Orchestra,
Seattle Choral Company,
Gallery Concerts,
Concerto Baroque,
Auburn Symphony,
Seattle Trumpet Consort and the
Early Music Guild and performs regularly with Northwest ensembles
such as
Tudor Choir,
Cappella Romana, and the
Seattle Opera Chorus. She has made recent appearances at the
Indianapolis Early Music Festival, Boston Early Music Festival and
Bloomington Early Music Festival.
Ms. Tsatsanis began her career as a full-time
member/soloist of Canada’s leading professional choir, the
Elmer Iseler Singers, working with such greats as Krzysztof
Penderecki, Sir David Wilcox, Bernard Labadie and Helmuth Rilling.
During this time she also enjoyed an active career as a freelance
soloist and movie and television actor. She can be heard on various
recordings by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation and on the new
Norton Anthology recording. A solo recording with lutenist John Lenti is
slated to be released in 2008.
Ms. Tsatsanis received her undergraduate degree from the University of
Toronto and continued her education with a Master’s degree at Indiana in
the studio of Alan Bennett, working with Early Music Institute faculty
such as Nigel North, Elisabeth Wright, Paul Elliott and Wendy Gillespie.
